Overview

C

hampioning energy reduction techniques and sustainability can be a lonely slog sometimes, but not for the North Wales Schools who joined forces into a framework project called the North Wales Procurement Partnership to upgrade all school lighting.

ICR were thrilled to be awarded the contract and 4 years later are still installing and maintaining lighting upgrades.

The project consisted of the conversion of thousands of lights and light fittings with the sole aim of saving money and saving the environment.

The technical work included:

  • Installation of sensors
  • Replaced all external wall pack fittings to a 30w LED wall pack fitting.
  • Conversion of 10144 light fittings varying from 2ft T12 to 6ft T12 twin fittings.
  • Reducing twin fittings to single fittings in certain schools reducing the usage by over 50%.

Reducing your electricity and carbon emissions by using efficient lighting makes good economic sense’ Said David Bamford, ICR Lighting Director.
